“Living as One” - Philippians 2:1-11

No Selfish Ambition – vs3

Selfishness is always what pulls people apart.

We have temptations to turn our positions to our own agendas.

Jesus was God and yet refused to hold that position in pure self-interest.

We will never have as much to hold to as Jesus did and yet He

let it go.

Humility- vs3-4

With selfishness being the problem, humility is always the solution.

We must be humble before God, shown in our obedience.

Jesus humbly endured suffering for the sake of others.

If we are all humble before God, it will pull us in the same direction.

Big Picture (9-11)

This shows us what came on the other side of Jesus’ emptying and humility.

Self-centeredness offers quick results but brings long-term suffering.

True greatness isn’t about you and your name but about others and the name of Jesus.
